Institution of Geoscientists celebrated the Earth Day 2025 on the 22nd April 2025 at the GSI, Bhubaneswar with all enthusiasim. Sri Pankaj Kumar, Deputy Director General, GSI, Bhubaneswar and Dr Priyadarshi Chowdhury, Asstt. Prof, NISER, Bhubaneswar were the invited speakers on the occasion. Sri Pankaj Kumar emphasized on the importance of Earth Day for a sustanable and green earth. Sri Lenka, Director, GSI presented a very relevant talk on the “Status of Critical mineral exploration in Odisha”. Dr Priyadarshi delivered an excellent talk on ” Evolution of Singhbhum Craton”. Sri J N Das, President, IGO talked on this year’s theme “Our Poewr, Our Planet”.

Besides members of IGO, large number of officers from GSI, State Unit, Odisha and faculty from NISER, Bhubaneswar participated in the programme.Sri K C Das, Jt Secy, IGO  administerd the Earth Day Pledge. Sri K C Sahoo, Treasurer, IGO extended formal vote of thanks.
