Shri Jadaba Nanda Das, Member, EC, and Dr. Manoranjan Mohanty, Fellow, met Shri Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Hon’ble Minister of Steel and Mines, Government of Odisha, on 12 February 2026 to discuss regarding the forthcoming seminar on “Natural Resources and their Utilisation with Special Reference to Critical Minerals”, scheduled to be held from 14–16 November 2026 at Bhubaneswar. Department of Mines and Geology, Government of Odisha is the official sponsor of this seminar.

During the meeting, two publications of the Geological Society of India “Geology of Odisha” by Jayanta Kumar Nanda, Manoranjan Mohanty, and S. N. Mahapatro, and “Iron Ores of India” by K. V. Krishnamurthy were presented to the Hon’ble Minister.

The Hon’ble Minister appreciated the initiative and assured all possible support from the Government of Odisha for the successful conduct of the seminar.
