ABOUT US

The “Institutione of Geoscientists, Odisha” (IGO)– a forum of former Scientific & Technical Officers of Geological Survey of India, launched at Bhubaneswar, Odisha, is a non-profit charitable Institution duly registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 (Registration No-23952/78 of 2017-18) with effect from 22/01/2018.

Geosciences for sustainable growth and development of all

OBJECTIVES

  • Serve as the centre of knowledge on Earth sciences and exchange information with different Earth science organizations and academic institutions.
  • To pursue scientific discussion and dissemination of knowledge on Earth sciences in respect of contemporary environmental, social and natural hazard issues.
  • To offer suggestions and advice to different government and semi government organizations on the matters regarding sustainable development of mining industry as well as the society.
  • To look after the welfare of the families of members (including those deceased)
  • To promote and advance the study of all branches of Geosciences and encourage effective interaction among all stakeholders for economic development of the country.
  • To extend technical consultancy support to different organizations andincluding educational institutions in their plans and projects.
